What's the difference between Extra Virgin and Olive Oil?
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) is essentially the 100% the juice of an olive. Olive Oil, on the other hand, is not.
EVOO can be described by three key characteristics: fruitiness, bitterness and pungency and we work hard to ensure balance across all three.
It is very important to understand what you are consuming. For a fresher, healthier and better product you can't go past high quality, cold pressed, extra virgin olive oil.

By removing traditional glass bottles, each product consumes:
Less energy for manufacture, less transport carbon from the weight, reduced cost per bottle.
We've removed plastic bottles and swapped them for aluminium packaging.
Aluminium is completely natural, recyclable and biodegradable. It makes up 8% of the earth's crust.
We estimate, that of even 0.5% of British households switched to Olivebox, we'd prevent 50 tonnes of plastic, and even more glass from being manufactured per year.

Why Cold Pressed Olive Oil?
Cold pressed olive oil means that no heat was used to extract the oil from the olives, instead using a load of pressure to squeeze the oil out.
Producers typically add heat to the olives at it helps to extract more oil, although, heat also destroys the delicate aroma and flavour that makes fresh extra virgin olive oils taste so great.
The definition of cold pressed olive oil is that temperature does not exceed 80.6°F (27°C), not that the temperature actually needs to be cold.
The result of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil; a more nutritionally dense product filled with antioxidants, vitamins, polyphenols and monosaturated fats.
There are a lot of extra virgin olive oil impostors out there. The label implies extra virgin, when in reality, they are blends of substandard olive oils.
